Siddipet: Dealing strictly with officials who skipped duties during the first phase of gram panchayat elections on December 11, Siddipet Collector K Hymavathi suspended 182 government employees on Friday.
The officials, who were assigned poll duties by the Collector, failed to report without seeking prior permission.
The action has sent a strong message to all staff drafted for the second and third phases of polling scheduled for December 14 and 17, as the district administration reiterated that any dereliction of duty in the conduct of elections would not be tolerated.
