Siddipet: In a heart-warming gesture, Inspector General of Police (Hyderabad Range) Stephen Ravindra on Thursday called on a police constable who is in home isolation after testing positive for Covid-19.
The IG spoke to Prameed Goud (36) maintaining physical distance and enquired about his recovery at the latter’s residence at Vasavi Nagar in Gajwel town. The IG has comforted the young constable and asked him not to worry. Ravindra gifted a pack of fruits to Prameed who is posted at Gajwel Police Station. The constable tested positive nine days ago and has been in home isolation since then.
During his visit to Siddipet district, Ravindra visited several places. He asked Commissioner of Police D Joel Davis and other officials to keep a strict vigil on seed sales to prevent marketing of spurious seed. He also visited Integrated Market in Gajwel and double bedroom houses at Mutrajpally while monitoring the implementation of lockdown.
On coming to know that Dommata village in Cheriyal was effectively keeping Covid-19 at bay, Ravindra visited the village. While the village did not have a single positive case in the first wave, locals told the senior police officer that 16 cases were reported in the second wave and all of them had recovered after remaining in home isolation.
The IG presented gifts to ANM Annapurna, Asha worker Swapna, Panchayat Secretary Raju, sanitation workers Ramachandram and Lakshmi Narasamma, and Village Police Officer Swapna in recognition of their services.
Instructing the police officials to initiate stern action against lockdown violators, Ravindra praised them for their work throughout the lockdown.
Commissioner Davis, ACP Husnabad Mahendar, ACP Gajwel P Narayana, and others were present.
