Sillymonks announces ShortCut awards
The ShortCut contest was run online on website and social media from November 20, 2020, to December 20, 2020.
Beginning 2020, the film production company Sillymonks planned to recognise and award those outstanding short-filmmakers, actors, cinematographers, editors and music directors, who remain behind the scenes but contributed significantly to this entertainment industry with their small stories with big impact.
The ShortCut contest was run online on website and social media from November 20, 2020, to December 20, 2020. An audience poll was taken and about a lakh votes poured in for these regional short-films. List of winners in various categories in four languages — Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam — has just been announced.
In Telugu, Hex won the Best Film award while NK Krishna bagged the Best Actor award for Neeve Nenaithe and Srujana Gopal the Best Actress award for Kaliyuga Vegam.
Sanjay Reddy, managing director of Silly Monks, says that there is nothing better than nurturing talent and giving filmmakers a platform to showcase their work or creation and ShortCut awards is one such endeavour in that direction.
