Peddapalli: The Chairman and Managing Director of Singareni, Dr Buddaprakash Jyoti, has directed officials to ensure full-capacity coal transportation from the Sathupalli Coal Handling Plant (CHP), targeting a daily dispatch of up to 50,000 tonnes.
At a review meeting with SCCL officials at Singareni Bhavan, Hyderabad on Friday, the CMD emphasized the need to overcome technical issues at the JVR Coal Handling Plant (CHP), which currently handles over 10 million tonnes annually, and ensure seamless coal evacuation.

He instructed that average daily transportation from the plant should be maintained between 45,000 to 50,000 tonnes. He instructed officials to resolve technical bottlenecks in coal bunkers and ensure that the set transportation targets are achieved efficiently.

He further directed that from the Naini Coal Block in Odisha, a production and transportation target of 6 million tonnes (60 lakh tonnes) should be achieved during the current financial year. He stressed the importance of resolving logistical challenges and called for coordinated efforts with local government authorities and community stakeholders to meet the targets.
It was informed that during the current financial year, production targets have been set at 11 million tonnes from JVR-2 opencast mine and 2.4 million tonnes from Kishtaram OCP. To meet these targets, coal dispatch through the JVR CHP must be optimized to its full capacity.

Area General Manager Chintala Srinivas briefed the CMD on measures being taken to ensure full utilization of the CHP.

Regarding the Naini Coal Block in Odisha, the CMD stated that while the coal corridor road construction may take some time, interim arrangements should be made to transport coal via road to nearby railway sidings. He advised officials to seek cooperation from local authorities and communities to facilitate smooth transportation.

General Manager Baidya explained the ongoing arrangements for transporting coal from the Naini Block to nearby railway sidings and also highlighted the requirement of manpower, including officers, workers, and supervisory staff, for operations at the mine.
