Hyderabad: The Special Intensive Revision of the electoral rolls, on its third day on Saturday, is yet to gain momentum in Hyderabad.

In the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC), distribution of enumeration forms has been proceeding at a snail’s pace. According to a few BLOs at Madhapur, employees would leave the city on the weekend, either visiting temple towns or travelling to their hometowns; as a result, they could not distribute electoral forms. A similar situation was seen in the Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC), too.

On Saturday, BLOs were less visible across all 15 assembly constituencies. They were expected to start the activity at 9 am, but there was no clarity on when they would begin, even after half the day had passed.

GHMC sources dealing with the SIR in the city told ‘Telangana Today‘ that, although directions had been given to the officers concerned to distribute the electoral forms in all wards across the 15 Assembly constituencies, the process had been delayed due to transportation problems.

In certain areas, the BLOs could not access the ward offices, where the electoral forms were stocked, and did not lift them. Still, the distribution of electoral forms has not yet picked up in all 15 assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district.
