Rajanna-Sircilla: A government teacher, who is suspected to be suffering from symptoms of black fungus, was shifted to Hyderabad by local medical authorities on Sunday for further medical examinations.
Allam Lingaiah (48), a native of Malyala in Chandurthi mandal, was infected by Covid-19 a month ago. He was discharged from hospital after undergoing treatment for 10 days at a private hospital in Karimnagar.
Though he recovered from Covid, he complained of headache, throat pain, swelling on the face and neck in the last three days. On Sunday, he again visited the hospital. After conducting medical examinations, hospital authorities shifted him to Hyderabad as the symptoms were similar to black fungus.
On coming to know about his condition, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Suman Mohan Rao visited Lingaiah’s house and enquired about the symptoms. The DMHO said it was yet to be confirmed that the teacher was infected with black fungus though he had symptoms.
