Six arrested for attacking police during protests against Secunderabad temple desecration

Based on the CCTV footage and video recordings, the police have identified the involvement of the leaders and members of different religious groups and registered cases.

Hyderabad: The Monda Market police arrested six people who allegedly attacked the police during demonstrations held in protest against the desecration of a temple in Secunderabad, on October 19.

Various religious organisations have called a bandh on the day protesting the vandalism of the temple. Agitators threw water bottles, stones and footwear at the police personnel deployed at the spot. Based on the complaint of Monda Market SI Mamata, the police have registered a case regarding the incident.


Based on the CCTV footage and video recordings, the police have identified the involvement of the leaders and members of different religious groups and registered cases.

Cases were registered against Naresh, Prashanth, Kiran, Vamsa Tilak, Sarath Thakur, Ram Reddy, Mohan, Rajesh, Yellesh, Ayush Raj, Ch Shivaji and Gnana Sundar , Kishan, Shivaram, Sai Prakash, Santosh, Rajesh, Srinivas, Sarath, Subhash, Anji, Praveen and others from various organisations. Of them, Mohan, Rajesh, Yellesh, Ayush Raj, Shivaji and Gnana Sundar were remanded as part of the investigation

Meanwhile, some others suspected to be responsible for the incident have been detained and are being questioned by the police.The police have booked five cases against a group of individuals, four by Market police and one by Gopalapuram police, for vandalising and damaging three TGSRTC buses and also for injuring policemen deployed to control the situation.

On Wednesday, the situation at temple remained calm and religious rituals continued under the watchful eye of the police. As a precautionary measure, the Rapid Action Force and local police were deployed in the area.
