A major fire broke out in a provision store at the Monda Market area in Secunderabad on Wednesday evening. No casualties were reported. Fire officials suspect a short circuit, and swift action prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby shops.
Secunderabad police arrested a 68-year-old man for manufacturing and selling adulterated cow ghee. The suspect mixed plant-based oils with food coloring, packaged 200 kg as cow ghee, and sold it in local markets. Authorities seized the ghee and related equipment.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Nilesh Sharma, a native of Madhya Pradesh who runs a tea stall on Market Street and is involved in drug peddling, and Mohd Aqueeb, a centering worker from Bowenpally and a drug consumer. The primary suppliers, Sameer and Arbaz, are currently absconding.
