Six held for running fake certificate racket in Hyderabad
Six persons who were preparing birth certificates and electoral photo identity cards fraudulently were apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force (North) team on Thursday.
Hyderabad: Six persons who were preparing birth certificates and electoral photo identity cards fraudulently were apprehended by the Commissioner’s Task Force (North) team on Thursday. The police seized voter id cards, Aadhaar cards, birth certificates, computer, printer, fake stamps and PAN cards from them.
The persons arrested by the police are Yelgam Raj Kumar (42), Md Mahboob (25), Rachamalla Vijayalakshmi (39), Kurapati Pallavi (32), Bandi Shankar (48) and Giriraj Anil Kumar (27).
According to Y V S Surendhran, DCP Task Force, the six persons formed into a gang and were illegally preparing birth certificates, voter identity cards and also making changes in Aadhaar cards .
“The gang was charging huge amounts from people and offering services. The gang created the documents in huge numbers running into thousands since 2015,” said the official.
The police identified some persons who had obtained favours from the gang and are planning to initiate action against them too.
The six persons along with the property were handed over Mahankali police station for further action.
