Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Economic Offences Wing (EOW) has booked the Directors of Rohit Infra for allegedly duping investors to the tune of several crores with fake buyback promises and high-return schemes.
The company promoted its ‘Botanical Eco-Living Spaces’ project in Munipally and Polkampally villages of Sangareddy district, assuring investors of 24 percent annual returns and guaranteed buyback options, police said.
A complainant from Saroornagar alleged that he invested Rs 43.75 lakh in 2023 after being convinced by the company’s representatives.
“Though the firm issued sale documents and post dated cheques under a buyback agreement, the promised repayment was allegedly not made after the deadline ended,” the complainant alleged.
He further alleged that around 11 investors together lost nearly Rs 4.52 crore in similar transactions.
Based on the complaint, EOW officials registered a case against the company directors and started an investigation.
