Nalgonda: The State government has announced the resumption of work on the AMR Srisailam Left Bank Canal (SLBC) tunnel project. The project, which aims to provide irrigation and drinking water to the Nalgonda and Nagarkurnool districts in the next two years. The government has set a target of completing at least 400 meters of the pending tunnel work each month.
To maintain the momentum of the project, the government plans to allocate Rs 14 crore monthly. This financial commitment is expected to ensure the project’s completion within the next two years. The SLBC project is crucial for the agricultural and drinking water needs of the region, and its timely completion is a priority for the state administration.
In addition to the SLBC project, the government has also prioritized the completion of ongoing works on the Nakkalagandi, Udaya Samudram, and Brahmana Vellamla projects. Monthly allocations will be made to ensure these projects are completed in order of priority.
A review meeting was held in Nalgonda to assess the progress of the SLBC project. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, and Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, among others. The ministers emphasized the importance of the project and reiterated the government’s commitment to its timely completion.
