Hyderabad: In a slight uptick in Covid-19 positive infections, Telangana reported 235 new cases on Wednesday while on Tuesday there were 228 Covid positive cases. Areas under GHMC reported 121 new infections, which was the highest in the State on Wednesday.
On an average, in the last two months, the daily Covid-19 infections in Telangana hovered between 180 and 190 and since the detection of the Omicron variant, this is the first time that there is a hint of a slight rise in daily Covid infections. While authorities confirmed 235 new Covid infections, there were no fatalities on Wednesday with the cumulative number of deaths continuing to remain at 4,024. The total number of positive cases so far in Telangana reached 6,81,307 while the number of active cases as on Wednesday was 3,490. The authorities on Wednesday conducted 38,023 Covid tests of which results of 5,179 samples were awaited. A total of 204 individuals recovered with a recovery rate of 98. per cent on Wednesday.
So far, a total of 2,96,34,007 Covid-19 tests have been conducted in the State out of which 6,81,307 tested positive and 6,73,793 persons recovered.
The positive cases reported from the districts included two from Bhadradri Kothagudem, 121 from areas under GHMC, two each from Jagityal, Jangaon and Kamareddy, five from Karimnagar, two from Khammam, five from Mahabubnagar, two each from Mahabubabad and Mancherial, 23 from Medchal-Malkajgiri, two from Mulugu, one from Nalgonda, two from Nizamabad, one from Peddapalli, 31 from Rangareddy, six from Sangareddy, three from Siddipet, five from Suryapet, one from Vikarabad, two each from Wanaparthy and Warangal Rural, nine from Hanumakonda, and two from Yadadri Bhongir.
