Kamareddy: A sloth bear that sauntered into a village, possibly, in search of water created a a commotion in Chityala village of Tadwai mandal on Saturday.
Villagers tried to scare it away by wielding sticks, but the bear lunged at them leading to a chaotic situation in the village.
As the villagers raised a hue and cry, the bear ran into the agricultural fields and hid itself in an open well. By that time, forest department officials reached the village with nets and tried to catch it.
Even as the commotion continued, the bear rushed out of the open well and soon disappeared into the adjoining forest, making the authorities and villagers heave a sigh of relief.
