Medak: Mobile addiction reportedly drove a young woman to suicide at Muthaipally village in Havelighanpur mandal on Tuesday.

Sirisha (19) was allegedly addicted to smartphones and used to play games continuously. When her mother warned her and even slapped her for remaining glued to the gadget at all times, Sirisha consumed a rodenticide that her mother is said to have kept in the house to kill rats. The incident occurred on Monday when her parents were away.

On their return in the afternoon, they found her unconscious and rushed her to a hospital. She died while undergoing treatment in the early hours of Tuesday. The police registered a case.
