Hyderabad: The TSIIC-TIF-SME Green Industrial Park at Dandumalkapur in Yadadri district will be fully operational next year. The works, which started two years ago, were affected due to the pandemic and are now back on track.
The industrial park is expected to attract about Rs 2,000 crore investment from members. Most of this would go towards creating industrial units and bringing the machinery. It is coming up in about 480 acre and about 450 industries operating in Hyderabad will use the new facility for capacity expansion.
“In the first phase, land was handed over to 370 members. The remaining 80 will get in the second phase of the project. About 20 companies have already started operations here. We expect the entire industrial park to be operational by December next,” Telangana Industrialists Federation (TIF) president K Sudhir Reddy told Telangana Today.
Works on some of the common facilities are under way and will include a skill development centre that will train local youth in the required trades and absorb them into jobs, he said. It will be a multi-product non-polluting industrial park and will have industries across electronics, electricals, food processing, packaging and others. It will also have a STP within the campus.
The first of its kind industrial cluster will be a growth engine for the SME segment and will also spur exports, he said. The members have toured different industrial parks to study and implement the best features here.
The cluster will employ more than 35,000 people including 20,000 direct jobs and about 15,000 indirect jobs. It will have a truck parking bay as part of the logistics facility. It will look to promote walk-to-work concept as an integrated residential township with schools, colleges, hospitals, retail and leisure facilities is part of the park, he said.
The project is being implemented by the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC). The industrial park will lay a special focus on having an adequate green cover in the premises and a specially-built nursery will cater to its needs, Reddy said.
