Lucknow: On Sunday morning, a Saudia Airlines flight arriving from Jeddah to Lucknow triggered an alarm at Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport when smoke was spotted around its landing gear. The aircraft was carrying 242 Haj pilgrims returning from the holy sites in Saudi Arabia.
Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) teams sprang into action alongside Saudia’s ground crew to contain the smoke. Thanks to their swift response, the situation was brought under control within minutes, preventing any damage to the aircraft and ensuring the safety of everyone on board.
All 242 passengers were safely deboarded, and no injuries were reported. Airport operations continued uninterrupted throughout the incident, with no delays or diversions affecting other flights.
According to airport sources, the now-empty aircraft is scheduled to depart Lucknow later today, bound for its next destination.
