Kamareddy: A social welfare residential school principal and auto-rickshaw driver were booked for their alleged role in the death of a student at Borla village in Banswada mandal on Monday.

Banswada Sub-Inspector Kirnamayi said that a case was registered against the principal Sunitha and auto-rickshaw driver Kasinath for showing negligence and causing death of Sangeetha (13), a class VIII student at the school, based on a complaint received from her parents. Investigations were taken up. Government declared an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the victim.

Parents of the student staged a sit-in in front of the school demanding action against those who were responsible for the death of Sangeetha on Monday. The alleged principal and auto-rickshaw driver showed negligence and resulted in the death of their daughter.  They wanted the government to extend compensation for losing their daughter.

On Sunday evening, Sangeetha from Kodicharla of Madnoor mandal died when she suffered profuse bleeding caused by a serious head injury when she tried to jump off the three-wheeler . She boarded the auto-rickshaw for fun to reach the main gate from the hostel. Three other students were also wounded in the incident. Reckless driving was attributed to the mishap.
