Software employee gets 20 years jail for rape in Hyderabad

A Hyderabad court sentenced a software employee to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for raping his colleague in 2018, imposing a fine and awarding Rs 3 lakh compensation to the victim following investigation by Madhapur police.

Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced a software employee to 20 years’ rigorous imprisonment for the rape of his colleague, which was reported in Madhapur in 2018. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 5000 on him.

The convict, Vivek Natani, who worked as a manager for a software firm in Kondapur, took the victim to his residence on the pretext of dinner. In an inebriated condition, he overpowered and raped her.


The court awarded compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the victim.

The Madhapur police investigated the case.
