Hyderabad: All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) legislator from Charminar Mumtaz Ahmed Khan on Monday said some persons were trying to defame him by spreading wrong information on the registration of a case against him.
The Hussainialam police had booked a case against Khan for allegedly slapping one Ghouse Gulam Jeelani on Saturday night. The police invoked Sections 324, 341 and 506 of Indian Penal Code against him. The MLA told the media that a few of his opponents ‘within and outside’ the party were trying to defame him. He alleged that Jeelani, who lodged a complaint against him, had thrown a water bottle on his vehicle while he was on his way home.
“When I questioned his behavior, he picked up an argument forcing me to slap him,” Khan said.
