Hyderabad: A soon-to-be bride died under suspicious circumstances at her house in Kalapather, on Tuesday.
According to the police, Fauzia Begum (22), who lived with her family at Kalapather, was to get married on Thursday. On Monday night, a small ceremony was held in the house wherein all her relatives attended. The function went on till the early hours of Tuesday, after which everyone went to sleep and Fauzia Begum also went into her room.
“Around 9.30 am, she was found hanging to the ceiling fan in the house,” said S Sudarshan, SHO (Kalapather), adding that relatives rushed her to a private hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead. The Kalapather police have registered a case and are investigating.
In a separate case at Jawaharnagar, P Sai Kumar (33), a goldsmith died, allegedly by suicide, after his attempts to find a suitable alliance for himself failed. Relatives were searching for an alliance for Sai Kumar for the last few years, but so far were unable to find one. “On Monday evening, he consumed acid kept in his shop. He was shifted to hospital where he died while undergoing treatment early on Tuesday,” the Neredmet police said.
