South Central Railway achieves best-ever performance in freight business

The zone registered 144.140 million tonnes freight loading which is 2 per cent higher than the previous best freight loading

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) registered its best-ever performance in freight business during the last financial year 2024-25 by surpassing the previous best figures registered in 2023-24. The zone registered 144.140 million tonnes freight loading which is 2 per cent higher than the previous best freight loading.

Similarly, in terms of freight revenue, the zone registered Rs 13, 825 crore, which is also 2 per cent higher than the previous best freight revenue registered during 2023-24.

SCR authorities said the zone has been giving a major thrust towards attracting new streams of freight business, while strengthening its existing freight basket. Special focus was given towards enhancing the infrastructure, work atmosphere at freight terminals, improvements to goods sheds, etc.

Simultaneously, regular communication is being maintained with the freight customers so as to address the requirements of the freight customers within stipulated time.
