South Central Railway nab 102 persons for stone pelting
The South Central Railway's RPF registered 128 stone-pelting cases and 29 sabotage cases until May this year, arresting 135 individuals. SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain urged public cooperation and warned of serious consequences for actions endangering passenger safety and railway property
Hyderabad: The SCR Railway Protection Force (RPF) has booked as many as 128 stone pelting cases and arrested 102 persons across the zone for the crime this year until May.
All these cases have been prosecuted in the jurisdictional courts concerned, wherein 12 persons have been convicted so far, of which one person was sentenced to undergo imprisonment of 15 days and the remaining 11 persons were penalised.
Further, 29 cases of placing foreign materials on the railway tracks have been reported in the zone, of which 26 cases were solved, and 33 persons were arrested. All the cases are under trial.
SCR General Manager Arun Kumar Jain said that the safety of the passengers and protection of the railway property was top priority and appealed to the people to support railways in tackling such activities. He requested parents to educate children about the negative consequences of such actions.
