South Central Railway wins four National Energy Conservation Awards 2025
South Central Railway has won four National Energy Conservation Awards–2025 for its energy-efficient and sustainable practices. The Diesel Traction Training Centre, Guntakal, won the Best Performing Unit award, while three railway stations received Certificates of Merit for exemplary energy management.

Hyderabad: The South Central Railway (SCR) has bagged four National Energy Conservation Awards–2025, highlighting its outstanding performance in energy efficiency and sustainable practices.
The awards were presented by President Draupadi Murmu at an event held in New Delhi on December 14.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava received the Best Performing Unit award for the Diesel Traction Training Centre (DTTC) and Hostel, Guntakal, in the Government Buildings (Open Category).
In the Transport Category (Railway Stations Sector), Raichur, Kacheguda and Lingampalli railway stations were awarded Certificates of Merit for exemplary energy management.
SCR officials said the achievement has reflected the zone’s sustained focus on energy conservation measures such as LED lighting, solar power usage, energy-efficient equipment and smart power management systems across its divisions and units.
