Southern Railway men and Central Railway women win weightlifting titles

Southern Railway men and Central Railway women won the team titles at the All India Railway weightlifting championship in Visakhapatnam. T Madhavan of Northern Railway and Komal Kohar of North Central Railway were named best lifters of the tournament

Visakhapatnam: Southern Railway men and Central Railway women won the team titles in the All India Railway weightlifting championship in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

T Madhavan of Northern Railway and Komal Kohar of North Central Railway were adjudged the best weightlifters of the championship.

Divisional Railway Manager Lalit Bohra, Ajay Samal, General Secretary ECORSA and Chief Engineer (Construction), E Santharam, ADRM (Infrastructure) K Rama Rao, ADRM (Operations) and M Haranath, Sports Officer and Sr DFM, were among those who gave away the prizes.

Individual best performers:

Best weightlifter (Men): T Madhavan (Northern Railway)

Best weightlifter (Women): Komal Kohar (North Central Railway)

Team championship:

Men: 1. Southern Railway 190 points, 2. Northern Railway 188 points

Women: 1. Central Railway 184 points, 2. North Eastern Railway 174 points

 

Central Railway Womens team, which won with 184 points in weightlifting.
