Mancherial: District Collector Bharati Hollikeri said that a special drive would be held for carrying the vaccination against Covid-19 from September 16 and requested all the citizens aged above 18 to vaccinate.
Speaking to the media here on Wednesday, Bharati said the district achieved 55 per cent of the target with 89,000 persons undergoing the vaccination. She opined that the drive could be a success only with the participation of the public. She informed that the process of vaccination was being carried out in 174 wards of municipalities and the activity would be commenced in 121 sub centres from Thursday.
The IAS officer urged the civilians not to trust apprehensions and to come forward to undergo jab. She said that the vaccination would help prevent one from being infected by the deadly virus and protect society. She stated that those who vaccinated against the Covid-19 were likely to keep the virus at bay by 96 percent. She requested the infected to have vaccination after a gap of a month.
The Collector asked the officials to expedite the process of vaccination against Covid-19 by having coordination among various departments. She advised the public to practice physical distance, to wear face masks and to sanitise hands for preventing the spread of the virus.
