In a teleconference with all District Health and Medical Officers (DM&HOs), the Minister said the health wing should ensure persons who are yet to receive the second dose are administered the vaccine quickly.
He directed the officials to ensure no village in the state is left-out from the free Covid vaccine drive. “We must achieve 100 per cent vaccination by administering first and second dose of vaccines to eligible individuals at the earliest. If there are more number of beneficiaries in cities, then vaccinators and other staff from districts will be deputed to cities,” he said.
In the interaction, Harish Rao asked officials to get personally involved in the vaccine initiative. “The DM&HOs should be in the field to speed up the vaccination administration drive. At Vikarabad, Covid vaccines are getting administered quickly and such successful models should be implemented across other districts,” he said.
To further strengthen the vaccination drive, the Minister said that a meeting with District Collectors will be held soon to hammer out difficulties. “We can’t execute this work without team work and inter-departmental collaboration. We want to be amongst the first Indian states to achieve 100 per cent vaccination of all eligible population,” he said.
