Khammam: District Collector VP Gautham on Tuesday directed officials of Sathupalli Municipality to spend 10 per cent of the estimated budget on developing greenery as per the provisions of the Telangana Municipalities Act, 2019, and urged them to make efforts to increase the revenues of the municipality in a planned manner.

The Collector attended the 2022-23 budget meeting of the municipality chaired by local MLA S Venkata Veeraiah at Sathupalli on Tuesday and expressed pleasure over the meeting being held at the newly constructed municipal building.

He said the State government has enhanced the minimum wages of sanitation workers and urged sanitary workers to work hard to keep the town clean. He along with the MLA inaugurated newly procured tractors and tankers on the occasion.

The municipal council approved budget estimates with a total income of Rs 42.99 crore, expenditure of Rs 42.75 crore and with a surplus of Rs 24.34 lakh.
