Sports Authority of Telangana announces selection trials for sports academies and regional hostel admissions

The Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) will conduct state-wide selection trials from July 20 to July 28, 2026. Covering age groups from Under-10 to Under-18 across ten disciplines, the trials secure admissions into elite state sports academies

Hyderabad: Sports Authority of Telangana (SATG) has announced the schedule for selection trials for admissions into its Sports Academies and the Regional Sports Hostel for the academic year 2026–27.

The selections will be conducted across various centres in the State between July 20 and July 28, 2026, covering multiple sports disciplines for eligible boys and girls.

The selection process will be held for admissions into the Regional Sports Hostel, Hanumakonda, and Sports Academies located at Gachibowli, L.B. Stadium, Cycling Velodrome (Osmania University), Saroornagar, Siddipet, Rajanna Sircilla, Khammam, Mahabubnagar and Wanaparthy.

The disciplines include athletics, volleyball, hockey, football, handball, wrestling, cycling, kabaddi, gymnastics and swimming. Eligible candidates will be selected based on their performance in the trials, with age categories ranging from Under-10 to Under-18, depending on the respective discipline.

The selection trials will commence on July 20 at venues including the Cycling Velodrome, Gachibowli Sports Complex, L.B. Stadium and Saroornagar Volleyball Academy, while trials at other centres such as Khammam, Siddipet, Mahabubnagar and Hanumakonda will continue until July 28, 2026.

Sports Authority has constituted discipline-wise selection committees comprising senior SATG officials, district sports officers, experienced coaches, representatives of recognised sports associations and international players to ensure a transparent and merit-based selection process.

SATG has instructed all conveners to submit the list of selected and standby players immediately after the completion of the trials.
