The medallists in the Ranga Reddy district powerlifting championship
Hyderabad: N Dharani and S Tapasya clinched honours in the 52 kg and 44 kg categories of women’s section in the Ranga Reddy district powerlifting championship at BRS Kingdom Fitness Centre (Bowrampet) here.
By virtue of their fine showing here, 40 athletes from Ranga Reddy have been selected to compete in the Telangana championship to be held soon.
B. Narasimha presented Rs 20,000 to S. Tpasya and S. Sai Teja, who were adjudged ‘strong woman’ and ‘strongman’ of the championship.
The list of medallists: 44 kg: S. Tapasya, 52 kg: N. Dharani, 56 kg: M.S. Kritika, 60 kg: Shymala, 67.5 kg: K. Priyanka, 75 kg: N. Deeksha, 75 kg & above: K. Hemalatha, 82.5 kg: Prasanna Lakshmi.
The Telangana Football Association Tournament Committee has decided that any football tournaments, including 5-a-side, 7-a-side, 11-a-side, or any other format, conducted henceforth must obtain prior permission from the Association.
Any tournaments conducted without obtaining permission from TFA will be viewed seriously, and strict action will be taken against the concerned academies, clubs, organisers, and players as per the rules and regulations of the Association.

Nikhil, Nadeem shine
Ravula Nikhil struck an unbeaten 205 (231b, 24×4, 1×6) to help HUCC score an imposing 536 for six in 84 overs against Sri Chakra Cricket Club in the HCA B-Division two-day league (relegation) matches here.
In reply, Sri Chakra scored 26 for two at the close of play on the first day.
In another match, Md. Nadeem (six for 26) bowled well to help New Blues record an eight-wicket win against Continental.
The scores: Continental 620 in 26.5 overs (Md Nadeem 6/26) lost to New Blues 66/2 in 10 overs (Md Sameer 32 no).

OU swimming pool re-opens from March 4
The Department of Physical Education, Osmania University, has informed that the swimming pool on its campus will be reopened from March 4 for the University students and others. Application forms will be issued from February 23 in the morning and evening hours.
