Hyderabad: Top-seeded Max Houkes of the Netherlands scored a 6-3, 6-4 win against Timofei Derepasko, while third-seeded Karan Singh of India outslugged USA’s Keshav Chopra 4-6, 7-6, 6-4 to enter the singles final of the Hyderabad Open ITF men’s tennis tournament at Lake View Tennis Academy here on Saturday.

In the doubles final, second-seeded Grigoriy Lomakin of Kazakhstan and Ishaque Eqbal of India defeated fourth-seeded Jeffrey Von Der Schulenburg of Switzerland and Vanshelboim Eric of Ukraine 6-2, 6-3 to clinch the honours.

Hyderabad struggles despite Raghava’s century

Hyderabad was struggling at 238 for six despite a fine century by P. Raghava (104, 225b, 11×4, 2×6) in reply to Vidarbha’s 420 in the first innings on the second day of the four-day Col.C.K. Nayudu Trophy cricket championship fourth round match here on Saturday.

For Vidarbha, S. Jagjot (105, 163b, 7×4, 5×6) batted well.

The scores: 2nd day: Vidarbha 420 in 95 overs (S. Jagjot 105, Mohd Abdul Adnan 4/50) vs Hyderabad 238/6 in 78 overs (P. Raghava 104, Wafi Kachhi 35).
