HYDERABAD: Sreenidi Deccan FC finished off the I-League 2024–25 season with a two-all draw against Sporting Club Bengaluru at Deccan Arena here on Saturday.
David Castaneda opened the scoring for the Deccan Warriors in the 47th minute, but Ishaan Raghunanda equalised for the visitors in the 67th minute.
David restored the lead in the 86th minute, only for substitute Shanid Valan to score a dramatic equaliser in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
Played under the floodlights, it was the hosts who controlled the game from the outset.
Early on, the Deccan Warriors had a chance to take the lead when a counter-attack involving Lalchungnunga and Brandon found David one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but the Colombian forward’s attempt was saved.
As the half progressed, both teams began to share possession and struggled to create clear-cut chances, aside from a few set pieces. The first half ended goalless.
In the second half, the Deccan Warriors came out with more attacking intent and took the lead in the 47th minute, with David capitalising on a through ball to slot it past the onrushing keeper. Sporting Club levelled the scores in the 67th minute through substitute Ishaan Raghunanda, who beat Ubaid CK with a composed finish.
David once again put the hosts ahead in the 86th minute with a smart finish, but in the final minute of added time, substitute Shanid Valan struck to level the scores and secure a point for the visitors.
