Sri Lanka Surgeons Fellowship to Dr Raghu Ram
Surgeons from Sri Lanka and from across the world are participating in the virtual conference with the theme 'Professionalism, Pragmatism and Pluralism' between November 5 and 7.

Hyderabad: Director of KIMS-Ushalakshmi Centre for Breast Diseases and president, Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Dr. P Raghu Ram was conferred with the honorary fellowship from College of Surgeons of Sri Lanka during a virtual inaugural ceremony of the 49th annual Sri Lanka Surgical Congress on Thursday.
Surgeons from Sri Lanka and from across the world are participating in the virtual conference with the theme ‘Professionalism, Pragmatism and Pluralism’ between November 5 and 7. In the inaugural ceremony, Dr. Raghu Ram delivered a virtual key note address on “The art and science of Oncoplastic breast conserving surgery.”
The honorary fellowship is the highest recognition and honour that is bestowed by the Sri Lankan Surgical College distinguished surgeons. “I am humbled and grateful for being handpicked by the College of Surgeons, Sri Lanka for the prestigious honour,” he said. The president of the College of Surgeons, Prof. Jayaindra Fernando read out the citation during the honorary fellowship conferment ceremony.
The cancer specialist has already received honorary fellowships from American College of Surgeons (FACS), Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand and Chinese College of Surgeons. Dr. Raghu Ram has the unique distinction of obtaining FRCS from all the four UK Royal Colleges of England, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Ireland.
