Sri Rama Navami celebrated with grandeur across Adilabad

The annual Sri Rama Navami festival was celebrated with pomp across Adilabad, Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Devotees witnessed the celestial wedding of Lord Rama and Goddess Seetha.

Adilabad: The annual Sri Rama Navami festival or the birth of Lord Rama was celebrated with much gaiety and pomp across the erstwhile Adilabad district on Friday.

The celestial wedding of Lord Rama with Seetha and feeding of devotees was held to mark the occasion. Devotees from all age groups took part in the festivities organized at the temples of Lord Rama in Sri Kodanda Ramalayam at Chanda (T) village in Adilabad mandal, the district centre and at the ancient Sri Laxminarasimha Swamy temple in Jainath mandal centre.


Vedic scholars performed the celestial wedding of Rama and Seetha, while devotees chanted Jai Sriram slogans. The participants were served prasadam after the ceremony. Cultural programmes were conducted as part of the festivities. Towns, mandal centres and villages have come alive with the wedding ceremony of the deities.

The festivities were celebrated on a colourful note on the premises of Sree Seetaramalayam, Shivaramalayam of Old Mancherial, Sri Kondanda Ramalayam in Ramakrishnapur town, Sri Seetharamalayam of Bellampalli, Sri Kodandaramalayam of Gouthaminagar and Sri Vishwanath Swamy temple in Mancherial town.

Meanwhile, the colorful wedding ceremony of Rama and Seetha was witnessed in the abodes of the god in several parts of Nirmal and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts. Community feedings and cultural programmes were conducted to mark the occasion. Festive weather prevailed in the towns and rural parts. The slogan Jai Shri Ram reverberated in the streets.
