Hyderabad: Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud on Sunday slammed BJP State president and MP Bandi Sanjay for resorting to mudslinging against him and challenged him to prove the allegations. He declared that if the BJP leader proves the allegations, he was ready to resign from all his posts. He also challenged Sanjay to resign as an MP if he failed to prove his charges.

Speaking to mediapersons at Telangana Bhavan here on Sunday, Srinivas Goud ridiculed the allegations of BJP State leaders that he had encroached lands in Mahabubnagar district. He advised Sanjay to refrain from making baseless allegations in future. “I am challenging Bandi Sanjay who is accusing me of amassing wealth in the guise of benamis. If he proves that I own even one square yard of land more than that mentioned in my passbooks, I will donate my entire properties to the poor in the presence of the BJP leaders. I will even resign from all my official posts if my land records are wrong. But is he ready to resign to his MP seat and the party posts if he cannot prove his allegations?” he questioned.

The Minister ridiculed the allegations levelled against him and wondered where Bandi Sanjay was during the Telangana movement when the TRS leaders including himself were fighting for statehood on the streets. He reminded that despite being a government employee, he did not care for his job and fought for separate State where he had not only faced lathis and bullets, but also went to jail.

Goud reminded that the TRS leaders as well as the employees had cooperated with the BJP leaders during the separate statehood movement. He advised the BJP leaders to refrain from making personal accusations and pointed out that the TRS leaders did not criticise Prime Minister Narendra Modi even though he failed to provide funds to Telangana and also for being negligent in supplying Covid-19 vaccines to the State. He said the TRS leaders were still treating the Prime Minister in a respectful manner.

He stated that it was not TRS, but BJP leaders who had amassed wealth illegally over the last few years. He alleged that the BJP leaders were resorting to land encroachments and running illegal businesses of toddy, sand mining and stone crushing. He suggested that the BJP leaders should first introspect before making allegations against others.
