Mahabubnagar: Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud on Sunday flagged off a tourism bus connecting the popular Manyamkonda temple, Pillalamari – 800 year-old Banyan tree, which is spread over four acres and KCR Eco urban Park.
The bus is being operated to promote tourism in the district. It will be operated on holidays, weekends and Sundays. The ticket fare for a trip is fixed at Rs 300 for adults and Rs 200 for children (aged 5-12 years), the Minister said.
The fare includes lunch and tea which will be served twice. The bus will leave the District Collector’s office at 8 am and reach Manyam Konda. After special darshan at the temple, tourists will be taken to the adjacent Mission Bhagiratha water grid and to the Padmavati Ammavari temple at the foothill.
From Manyam Konda, the bus would reach Pillalamarri. After visiting the Science Museum, Children’s Park, Archeology Museum and Mini Zoo in Pillalamarri, tourists will be taken to KCR Eco Urban Park in the afternoon.
After having lunch at the Park, tourists can spend time at the adventure parks, rain forest and enjoy boating within the park on paying the required ticket fare. At 5 pm tourists will be dropped back at the Collector’s office.

Well-baby contest
District Collector S Venkat Rao said a well-baby contest will be conducted on Tuesday at Zilla Parishad Hall from 9 am to 11 am as a means to create awareness among parents on the children health.
The contest will be conducted in three categories — newborn to one year age group, one year to two years age group and two to three years age group. Top three prizes will be given in each category, besides two consolation prizes. Apart from health, judges will be considering the beauty and dressing of the children. Participants will have to carry birth certificates.
Similarly, a cultural meet will be organised on Wednesday at the ZP grounds. As part of the programme, cultural competitions will be conducted till afternoon at the venue in different categories of solo and groups.
Artistes can participate in both the categories and winners will be presented with top three prizes, the Collector said. Interested persons can contact DPRO office or call on 99493-51689
