Hyderabad: Hyderabad shuttler Srivedya Gurazada, who trains at Chetan Anand Badminton Academy, won the women’s doubles gold in the Mexico International badminton tournament. The youngster paired with Ishika Jaiswal of the United States to defeat Canada’s Crystal Lai and Alexandra Mocanu 20-22, 21-17, 21-16 in the summit clash.
Playing her first international tournament, Srivedya showed grit to come out victorious in the three-set thriller. In the singles category, she reached quarterfinals before losing to eventual winner Lauren Lam. Chetan Anand hoped that the youngster will win laurels in the future.
