St Francis College wins Osmania University basketball title
St Francis College for Women defeated Villa Marie College 38-29 to win the Osmania University inter-college women’s basketball championship. Loyola Academy secured third place with a 28-26 win over St Ann’s College, while top scorers shone in the finals
Hyderabad: St Francis College for Women defeated last year’s runner-up Villa Marie College 38-29 in the final to win the Osmania University inter-college women’s basketball championship here.
For the winners, Pari (15), Sania (10) and Shristi (8) were the lead performers, while Jahanvi (10), Harshitah (10) and Ayesha (6) played well for the losers.
Loyola Academy scored a narrow 28-26 win against St Ann’s College for Women (Mehdipatnam) to settle for third place, with Deepthi (21) being the top-scorer for the winners, while Blessy (9) and Heeba (7) put up a fine show for the losers.
Prof Uma Joseph, Principal of St Francis College, Senior Prof K Deepla, Syed Farooq Kamal, Head, Department of Physical Education, St Francis, and Dr Amitha Daniel, PD, graced the valedictory function.
