Stalker attempts suicide after attacking woman in Jagitial

A native of Mannegudem of Medipalli mandal, Raju was stalking after a 23-year-old woman in the name of love and developed grudges against her after she refused his love proposal

Jagitial: A stalker attacked a woman with a knife after she refused his love proposal and later, attempted suicide by slitting his throat with the same knife. This bizarre incident occurred in Jabithapur of Jagitial rural mandal on Saturday afternoon.

A native of Mannegudem of Medipalli mandal, Raju was stalking after a 23-year-old woman in the name of love and developed grudges against her after she refused his love proposal.

On Saturday, Raju went to the house of the woman in Jabithapur and attacked her with a knife where she sustained severe injuries on her neck and other places on her body.

Later, Raju slit his throat with the same knife. Family members of the girl and neighbours shifted the duo to the hospital. While Raju was shifted to district headquarters hospital, the woman was admitted in a private hospital.

The condition of Raju is said to be serious, while the condition of the woman is stable and out of danger. Jagitial DSP Venkataramana visited the hospital and enquired about the incident.

The victim, who was pursuing Post Graduation, was staying at home as all educational institutions were closed due to the Corona outbreak. Police registered the case and began investigation.
