Karimnagar: Collector RV Karnan has said that instead of using handkerchiefs as masks, people must wear three layered face masks to protect themselves from Covid.
Besides wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands frequently with sanitizer was important to stay away from deadly virus, he said. The collector along with Additional Collector Garima Agarwal inspected fever survey carried out in Chinthakunta, Rekurthi, Thigalaguttapalli, and Buttirajaram colony of Karimnagar town on Sunday.
Interacting with roadside vendors, Karnan instructed them to wear three layered face masks instead of handkerchiefs to get protection from coronavirus. He enquired whether vendors took double dose of covid vaccine. Speaking on the occasion, the collector instructed officials to conduct a fever survey in a perfect manner by visiting each and every house. He advised that the people suffering with covid symptoms should continue treatment by undergoing a corona test.
Based on the state government’s instructions, fever survey is being carried out in the district, he said and instructed survey teams to provide home isolation kits to the people suffering from fever and covid symptoms by conducting tests. Instructing teams to complete the survey within five days, Karnan wanted teams to administer vaccine to people who did not take the second dose as well as children aged between 15 to 18 years.
He also wanted survey teams to educate the people about following covid norms by wearing face masks, maintaining physical distance and washing hands frequently. Though Omicron was not harmful, people should take precautionary measures, he said. District Medical and Health Officer Dr Juveria, Municipal commissioner Seva Islawath, and medical staff participated in the programme.
