Hyderabad: Motorists are now a concerned lot, with the government announcing the new requirement of a having High Security Registration Plate (HSRP) fixed mandatorily for both new and old vehicles in the state. Previously, this rule applied only to vehicles manufactured after April 1, 2019. However, the Transport Department has now issued orders mandating that all vehicles manufactured before April 1, 2019, must also be fitted with HSRPs, with a deadline set for September 30 to comply.

The department has further clarified that vehicles without HSRPs will not be eligible for any services at RTOs across Telangana and will also be ineligible for insurance. Following the announcement that vehicles without the plates will face fines and possible seizure, many motorists are anxious about how to obtain the HSRP.

How to Book HSRP Online:

Visit the website: www.siam.in

• Click on ‘Book HSRP’
• A new window will open. Enter the required details including: Full name, Vehicle number, Email ID , Mobile number, State and district
• Then, agree to the terms and conditions and submit.
• Select your vehicle type (two-wheeler, three-wheeler, four-wheeler, bus, truck, commercial vehicle).
• Choose your vehicle brand.

In the next window, select the ‘High Security Registration Plate with Color Sticker’ option.

Now, you’ll go through six steps:

Step 1: Booking Details

Step 2: Fitment Location

Step 3: Appointment Slot

Step 4: Booking Summary

Step 5: Verify Details and Make Payment

Step 6: Download Receipt

Additional instructions:

• Enter the vehicle number, the last five digits of the chassis/frame number, and the captcha.
• Select your preferred date and time for fitment.
• Choose a service center or fitment location from the available options. The cost of the plate will be displayed.
• Review the booking summary, verify your details, and proceed to payment.
• You can pay via credit/debit card, UPI, or net banking.
• After payment, download the application form and print a copy for reference.

The application slip is valid for up to 28 days, and no additional fee is required for fitment.
