The TS govt delegation led by the Minister visited various structures in New Delhi on Friday to examine the use of various stones and their designs in construction of several heritage structures. They examined the feasibility of using these stones in the upcoming State Secretariat complex in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: For the second consecutive day on Saturday, a delegation led by Roads and Buildings Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy visited various structures built using a variety of stones in New Delhi and Agra. They examined the feasibility of using these stones in the upcoming State Secretariat complex in Hyderabad.

The Telangana government delegation led by the Minister visited various structures in New Delhi on Friday to examine the use of various stones and their designs in construction of several heritage structures. They visited the Red Fort in New Delhi and later Taj Mahal in Agra where they examined the availability of stone varieties that could be used for construction of the new Secretariat complex.


Later, Prashanth Reddy and the team visited stone quarries in Dholpur, Bari, Sirmatura and Karwali and checked the quality of stones available. He also discussed with the local officials in this regard and enquired about their quality. He was accompanied by Roads and Buildings engineer-in-chief Ganapathi Reddy, executive engineer Shashidhar, building architect Oscar G Concessao, construction company Shapoorji and Pallonji’s representative Laxman and several other officials. They will continue the tour and visit Amber Palace, Jaigar Fort, Jal Mahal, Naharghar Fort, Hawa Mahal, Jantar Mantar and other constructions involving stone structures in Jaipur on Sunday.
