Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Sunday targeted Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for claiming credit for government jobs filled by the previous BRS government by issuing appointment letters, but not facing unemployed youth protesting over jobs.
He demanded that the government immediately release notifications for two lakh jobs and hold talks with protesting students and job aspirants.
Addressing the party cadre at Telangana Bhavan here, Rama Rao said unemployed youth across the State were agitating because the government had neither issued job notifications nor followed up on its own job calendar, which turned out to be a mere publicity stunt.
“Revanth Reddy went to inaugurate a shopping mall at RTC crossroads, but could not dare to stop at Ashoknagar and talk to protesting youth and assure them of jobs,” he said.
Calling Revanth Reddy an honest deceiver, the BRS working president reminded that the former had claimed that people believe in politicians only to get deceived and came to power on promises he never intended to fulfil.
However, the Chief Minister was resorting to abusive language whenever questioned about unfulfilled promises, he said, adding that Telangana’s people now felt more courageous just thinking of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, because the current government had pushed the State into economic distress, joblessness, and stagnation.
Contrasting the present situation with the decade-long rapid progress under the BRS, citing Mission Bhagiratha, Hyderabad water projects, and uninterrupted governance even during COVID-19, he said the Congress government, which has completed two years, had failed to implement any of the promises including double pensions, Rythu Bharosa, Dalit Bandhu, two lakh jobs and Pay Revision Commission.
Turning to defected MLAs, Rama Rao said their situation was pathetic, pointing out that they project themselves as Congress leaders in their constituencies while still identifying as BRS members before the Speaker in the Assembly.
Welcoming former Bandlaguda Mayor Srilatha and her husband Prem Goud who joined the BRS along with supporters from Rajendranagar, into the BRS at Telangana Bhavan, he demanded that Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud clarify which political party he belonged to and why he was absent when leaders from his constituency were at Telangana Bhavan.
Former Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy, former MLA Methuku Anand, senior leader P Karthik Reddy and others were also present.
