Hyderabad: Incidents of stray dogs attacking children are being reported from different districts, leaving the residents worried and panicky. Such incidents occurred in Kalwakurthy of Nagarkurnool on Sunday and Kamalapur in Hanamkonda.

A two-year old boy was brutally attacked by the stray dogs while he was playing near his house at Subashnagar in ward no 19 of Kalwakurthy in Nagarkurnool district. The boy Yousufain, who suffered injuries on the face and head, was immediately shifted to the government hospital.

Residents complained that despite repeated appeals about stray dogs’ menace, municipal officials did not bother to address the issue. They charged that the stray dogs were particularly targeting children and senior citizens, according to reports.

In a similar incident at Kamalapur in Hanamkonda, four children and an adult were attacked by a stray dog. The incident occurred at Venkateshwarapally village and videos of a child suffering injuries in the attack were shared in social media.

The child suffered severe injuries on the right hand and was shifted to hospital for treatment, reports said. More details are awaited.
