Striking AYUSH House Surgeons meet MP Mallu Ravi; MP extends solidarity

AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors in Telangana, striking for parity in stipends with allopathy counterparts, tied Rakhi to Congress MP Mallu Ravi seeking his intervention. Ravi assured them of support, citing discussions with officials and ministers, while the strike entered its 26th day with continued dharna in Warangal.

Warangal: AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors who were on strike seeking a stipend on part with their Allopathy counterparts have taken their grievance to the notice of Congress MP, Mallu Ravi seeking his intervention.

Telangana AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors Joint Action Committee (JAC) president Dr.Rajesh Kalyan, its general secretary Dr. Akhil Kumar, joint secretary Dr navaneeth and others called on the MP on Friday in Hyderabad and tied Rakhi to him marking the Rakhi Festival.

According to the JAC leaders Mallu Ravi extended solidarity to the striking AYUSH House Surgeons and PG doctors. The MP stated that he had already discussed the stipend issue with officials of the AYUSH Commissionerate, Health Department and Finance Department.

He further informed the students that Health Minister C Damodar Rajanarsimha has also responded positively to the issue and said the Congress Party stands with AYUSH students, House Surgeons and PG doctors.

Mallu Ravi further assured the students that the stipend file needs to proceed to the consideration of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy; efforts would be made to ensure the process would be completed at the earliest.

Meanwhile, as the strike entered 26th day on Saturday, the JAC members staged a dharna at Ananthalakshmi Government Ayurvedic Medical College and Teaching Hospital, Warangal.

The JAC joint secretary Dr. Rohith Basre said that though the assurance from the MP offered some relief, the protest and relay hunger strike would continue until the government order (GO) was officially released and reached them.
