Hyderabad: Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud on Tuesday said an action plan would be chalked out to ensure stringent punishment for those responsible for road accidents in drunken condition.

Interacting with a vernacular news channel here in the wake of two fatal road accidents in the city and its suburbs on Monday, the Minister said the best practices adopted in States in the country or abroad would be examined before introducing it in Telangana to punish those driving vehicles in an inebriated condition, resulting in road accidents.

At the same time, stern action would be taken against the owners of the pubs if they were found to be violating norms. The Excise Department would not hesitate to cancel the licence permanently if they commit violations.
