Malkajgiri Traffic Police booked 242 motorists in a special drunk-and-drive crackdown between February 16 and 21. Most offenders were two-wheeler riders. Police warned of strict action, including culpable homicide charges, in cases involving fatal accidents.
Cyberabad traffic police caught 377 people driving under the influence during a weekend crackdown. Twenty-one had high BAC levels. Courts disposed of 55 cases last week, including fines, social service, and one imprisonment sentence.
