Suryapet: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Monday asked the women to achieve financial self-sufficiency by forming mutual cooperative savings societies.
Attending the 22nd general body meeting of Antyodaya Mahila Mutually Cooperative Savings Society held at Suryapet, Jagadish Reddy said that women can achieve target as they would have commitment and dedication on the work.
Antyodaya Society, which was started with 10 members, now has 10,000 members. He reminded that the society was set up 22 years back under an NGO Ardhika Samatha Mandali. He opined that the rural women can also achieve financial self-sufficiency, if they form as mutually cooperative saving societies.
He said that the government would also extend its help for the society to expand its services. Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav and Suryapet municipal chairman Perumalla Annapurnamma were also attended the meeting.
