Medak: Students of the Tribal Welfare Residential Sports School for Girls staged a protest at Chegunta mandal headquarters on Monday, demanding that the government immediately appoint a mathematics teacher for the school.
The students said they were struggling to prepare for their examinations as no mathematics teacher had been assigned to teach Intermediate classes since the beginning of the academic year. The protestors blocked the road for some time, causing traffic disruption on both sides.

The school has 33 students in the first year and 29 in the second year of Intermediate. Several students turned emotional while explaining their difficulties during the protest.
When contacted, the school’s Principal, Sumathi, said the mathematics teacher was transferred to Bhadrachalam about four months ago. Although officials had agreed to depute a replacement, the appointment had not been finalised. She added that there was communication from higher authorities about transferring a teacher from Kondamallepally to Chegunta shortly.
