Sangareddy: The inmates of social welfare residential school located in Sirgapur staged a protest accusing the management of serving them insect infested food besides denying several facilities. The hostel is located in a forest area along Kadpal-Sirgapur road where the students launched a flash rasta-roko on Thursday night.
The students said that there was no power supply in the hostel for the last 15 nights. Since the borewell was not functioning, the students complained that they were forced to go outside to attend nature calls during the night. They were further forced to drink the water which was actually used for other purposes.
Whenever parents questioned the warden following the complaints of their children, the students said that the warden was beating them by walking into the hostel in an inebriated condition. The students were further struggling during the winter since there were no proper windows to rooms.
The students demanded immediate action from the officials to put everything right in the hostel. Meanwhile, the student organisations have demanded the officials to suspend the warden for attacking the students. The students also continued their protest on Friday morning with the support of student organisations.
