Adilabad: Special branch Sub-Inspector Mesram Chandrabhan’s funeral was held on the outskirts of Mavala mandal centre on Tuesday. Chandrabhan (56) died while undergoing treatment in Hyderabad after testing positive for Covid-19 on Monday.

Family members of Chandrabhan, Police officers and public representatives attended his final rites held by the department. They paid floral tributes to the official.


Superintendent of Police Vishnu S Warrier, former Adilabad MP Godem Nagesh, Armed Reserve Additional SP B Vinod Kumar, Adilabad DSP N Venkateshwar Rao, special branch Inspector V Suresh, town’s inspectors P Srinivas, S Ramakrishna and Adilabad Rural Inspector K Purushottam Chary, Reserve Inspector O Sudhakar Rao, G Venu and Police Officers’ Welfare Association district president Penchala Venkateshwar Rao and leaders of Tudum Debba were present.

Vishnu Warrier said the Sub-Inspector played a vital role in resolving the Adivasi-Lambada conflict during 2017 and 2018. He consoled Chandrabhan’s family and extended immediate relief of Rs 20,000 meant for final rites. He assured to extend all support to the bereaved family members and a job to the eligible one under compassionate grounds.
